A message from the Managing Director

Modern ports for a more competitive, connected and investment-ready Liberia.

Aligned with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, the National Port Authority is positioning Liberia’s ports as dependable gateways for trade, industry, value addition and responsible investment.

Liberia’s economic ambitions require ports that are safe, efficient, transparent and ready to support larger volumes of commerce. Our priority is to strengthen infrastructure, improve operational performance, deepen digitalisation and create a predictable environment for shipping lines, investors, concessionaires and logistics partners.

We are connecting port development with the country’s wider priorities for infrastructure, good governance, job creation and economic diversification. Every improvement across the Freeport of Monrovia, Buchanan, Greenville and Harper should make it easier to do business in Liberia and ensure that growth reaches communities beyond the port gates.

To our private-sector and development partners, NPA is open to credible partnerships that expand capacity, transfer knowledge, improve resilience and create long-term value for Liberia. We intend to build a port system that earns confidence through performance, accountability and service.
